Verdict
Early form: the most useful debutant for anyone cutting repeat video formats. Free to edit, and your agent does the rough cut. The macOS 26 requirement will rule some people out.
What it is
A real editor your agent can drive. The rough cut does itself.
Palmier Pro is a full multi-track video editor for Mac with a local MCP server, so Claude, Codex or Cursor can build and cut the timeline for you. You can also generate images, video, voice and music right on the timeline, and export to Premiere, Resolve or Final Cut. The editor and MCP are free; Pro ($29/month, a limited-time price down from $49) adds 5,000 generation credits and cloud transcription. Needs macOS 26 on Apple silicon. It started open source (GPL-3.0) but later builds are closed source.
Launch · Show HN, 23 Jul 2026 (191 points). Repo opened Apr 2026; about 14,600 GitHub stars.
Best for
- Recurring clips, shorts and ads with a set pattern
- People already paying for Claude or Codex
Watch-outs
- Windows or older Macs
- Anyone who needs an open-source editor (current builds are not)
